On December 26, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the Bolivian Soybean Byproduct Processing Plant, co-constructed by the China Railway No.9 Group, was held in San Julián, Santa Cruz. Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora attended the ceremony.
Construction of the Bolivian Soybean Byproduct Processing Plant began in May 2023. The plant is designed to process 1,000 tons of soybeans per day, producing approximately 200 tons of crude oil, 800 tons of soybean meal, and soybean hulls daily. In addition to providing feed for poultry, the plant will supply crude oil to Bolivia’s oil refining industry and YPFB’s biodiesel plants.
