Of CREC, and China Railway Tunnel Group, has laid a solid foundation for subsequent electrification, joint commissioning, trial runs, and the full opening of the line.
Phase I of Dongguan Metro Line 1 spans 57.46 kilometers, starting from Dongguan West Station and ending at Meitang Station. The 1301 section, constructed by CREC, begins at Wanghong Station and ends at Tongsha Park Station, covering approximately 23 kilometers. China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group and Shanghai Civil Engineering Co,.Ltd. Of CREC were responsible for all track-laying tasks.
Dongguan Metro Line 1 is a key backbone line of the city’s rail transit network. Upon completion and operation, it will form a cross-shaped interchange with the already operational Line 2. Some stations will also connect with multiple intercity railways, including the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity, Foshan-Dongguan Intercity, and Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity lines. In the future, it will achieve interconnection with the rail transit systems of Guangzhou and Shenzhen, providing robust infrastructure support for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This will significantly accelerate the formation of a one-hour living circle in the Greater Bay Area and promote multi-city regional integration.
