On November 19, local time, China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group and Harbin Electric International Co., Ltd. jointly signed contracts for the 1800 MW CCGT (Combined Cycle Gas Turbine) facilities in Rumah 2 and Nariyah 2, Saudi Arabia.
Both projects adopt combined cycle technology, with natural gas as the primary fuel and diesel as the backup. They feature air cooling systems, advanced designs, and high environmental efficiency. Each power plant spans a construction area of 900 meters by 790 meters, totaling 710,000 square meters. The scope of work includes building an 1800 MW gas turbine power plant, encompassing the main island, auxiliary facilities, and external road infrastructure.
Upon completion, the projects will significantly enhance Saudi Arabia’s natural gas power generation capacity, providing more stable and efficient electricity to Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. This will improve the quality of life for local residents and support Saudi Arabia’s energy transition and sustainable socioeconomic development.
