On November 17, the world’s largest asymmetrical curve rotating cable-stayed bridge, the Lushan Station Rotating Cable-Stayed Bridge in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, was completed by China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group. This achievement paves the way for the project to open to traffic by the end of the year.
The bridge spans 465 meters in length and 42 meters in width, constructed using a twin-tower rotational method. It crosses 14 railway lines, including the Chang-Jiu Intercity Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, and Wuhan-Jiujiang Passenger Railway, as well as existing local roads. The closure segment includes 17 sections, with the mid-span closure segment measuring 4 meters. The closure was completed using a suspension method, involving 147.8 cubic meters of concrete.
As the final piece of the first phase of the Jiujiang Expressway project, the bridge will connect the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge and the Lushan High-Speed Rail Station. Upon completion, it will optimize Jiujiang’s transportation network, greatly enhance transport efficiency, and strengthen the city’s role as a key transportation hub along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
